Food which are rich in insoluble dietary fibers: Vegetables, Whole grain bread, Chapatti made from Atta, Raagi, Oatmeal, Basmati rice, Brown rice (Medium Glycemic Index) etc.
Typically Diabetics should consume food with low Glycemic Index and higher in insoluble fibers.
For people who have been diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus for the first time they are advised to do the following before starting any medication or Insulin. This is a standard medical protocol followed world over. I call it "WASH".
Finally it is important to note that treating Diabetes without "WASH" is like laughing at a bad joke.
